Welcome!
I am a social scientist by training, an independent and creative thinker by habit, and a humanist by nature. Throughout my career, I have sought to support initiatives which pursue equitable development outcomes, challenge discrimination, promote social inclusion, and encourage active citizenship. I am a skilled and enthusiastic facilitator of learning and organisational change, and have extensive experience of project management implementation I am experienced in the use of participatory approaches.
I have 30 years’ experience in the aid and development sector. I have worked as a social development adviser on the British Aid programme, a university lecturer in international development studies, and as a senior member of a UK charity.
I am also a film-maker, and recently completed an MA in Documentary Practice. I seek to integrate the use of video and photography, both as a research tool and as a medium of communication in future work, and to use these skills to enhance the voice of those who are marginalised from mainstream decision-making processes.
My portfolio of recent work clusters around the following tasks and themes:
-
Programme design, monitoring and evaluation
-
Social research and analysis
-
Video and photography
-
Organisational change
-
Citizen’s voice and accountability
-
Knowledge management
-
Mentoring and capacity building
-
Social development policy and practice
However, I am always pleased to consider new challenges.
